What choice of window furniture do I have?

Our representative would have discussed what window furniture you would like to have replaced at the time of survey; whether a "full set" or just individual items.

Our "full set" of window furnture includes a non-locking sash fastener, (Fitch or Brighton) a pair of "d" handles or sash handles, a pair of sash lifts and a sash stop, or "rolabolt", with two chambers and a key.  Casement furniture will be individually priced.

Although the standard of the furniture we use is very high and perfect for most situtions, you may want to pick a different period style, detail or finish, or use lockable fasteners.

There are a surprising number of variations of window furnture to choose from to suit your taste and decor.  You may want to choose something in keeping with the period of your property or go for a modern twist.

Decisions to be made

• The first choice to make is the finish of your window furniture.  Most homes would traditionally have had a polished brass finish, but many homes prefer a modern chrome or satin nickel look. Do you need different finishes in different rooms?
• Next, do you need a lockable sash fastener or casement pin?  Many insurance companies insist on this, so it's worthwhile checking.

• Do I want a traditional or modern look?  Some of our furniture - especially that for the casement windows, will have a choice of forged style and more crafted cottagey style.

Possible restrictions

If you are having double glazed inserts, then your choice may be limited as we sometimes have to use narrow keep sash fasteners on the meeting rails as you would have lost some depth.  Your refurbishment team will be happy to advise and let you know if this is an issue.
